Chapter Twenty One: Thanksgiving
We have been back in Georgia for almost 2 years. In Marietta, Georgia, that is. Just North of the city of Atlanta. It will be two years in January. In those two years so many things have happened. Countless things to be thankful for in our lives. I find that while I form many wonderful relationships I lose touch with those closest to me-my family. Owning a business is so many things-it is invigorating, exciting, promising, reassuring, time consuming, never ending. So many wonderful opportunities have presenting themselves to me in such a short time-it has been almost overwhelming. While many times I want to just dive head first into the business, I have to remember I have 2 other jobs-wife and mother. Anyone who has ever said you can have it all-they lied. I do think you can have it all but only if you show equal attention to all of your career choices. If not, things begin to suffer.
I am so thankful for all of online family and honestly am always touched by all of your kind and reaffirming comments and your purchases of my work. I have gone through so much to get to where I am today-in all aspects. On Saturday I head to Sydney, Australia to teach 4 sold out workshops at a school run by a woman I think pretty much hung the moon. I get to start the trip in LA visiting friends with new babies, new houses, babies I simply haven't met yet. The only part of this trip that I am not looking forward to is the fact that I can't share it with my family. I am hopeful that the next trip to Australia (praying there will be one), Brad, Lane, Byrd and Woodson will be in tow. I come home for a few days to be with family and then I head to Austin for work. I return on December 18th and I can't wait to be home for a good chunk of time. While I can't wait for what the future holds for me and my artwork, I have decided to take the month of January off. Of course if any orders are placed they will be filled. I will just be signing off-away from social media-for the month. Y'all will all be so tired of my photos from Australia, Austin and Christmas-you will be ready for a break from me!
I hope all of you have so much to be thankful for on this special Thanksgiving day. If it's your awesome job, your cool new sofa, your sweet old dog, your yummy new baby, your older children, or the empty nest, your new marriage-enjoy it.
Love you all a lot!
