Chapter Fifteen: Listen
Lately I have been trying to pay attention to what I truly want for myself and my family. One of my favorite quotes is one I found via Pinterest a few years ago-I do not know who said it first. "PUT YOUR EAR DOWN CLOSE TO YOUR SOUL AND LISTEN HARD". I think this is one of the most difficult things to do. We go through our day so routinely and seek comfort in or day. I get it, believe me-especially when you have the responsibility of children, a mortgage, bills, etc. While I can't speak to all of you, I will say that for me, taking risks is in my blood. As you might of read in my 38 Jobs post, I have moved across country knowing no one, I have had a baby by myself, I have fallen in love with a man in the midst of a divorce, I have started a business and failed completely at the financial side of it-but I would do it all again because it has lead me to where I am today.
My latest risk involves two other very talented and driven women. They are part of the Marietta community and I feel blessed to have met them both. As much as I have been discussing moving into Atlanta and out of the burbs, it will never happen. Brad's office is about 7 minutes from our current house and Lane, my stepson is about 3 minutes away. Moving into Atlanta will create a distance that neither of us really is willing to create. Historic Marietta is pretty amazing. New restaurants are opening all the time. Young, hip families are moving in. And they are searching for others like them. That being said, it looks like I will have a space on the Square soon enough. Creating my art, sharing office space with glass artist Lindsay Troutman of Copper & Torch and interior designer, Dana Poor of Boxtree Design. We will bringing in something fresh and new that we hope will fill a large void. More to come soon after it is official.
Thank you-all of you-for your continued support.
Love you lots-
