Chapter Twenty-Eight: Travel
Does anyone else find it odd that I have to travel for over 38 hours to get shit done? And that I have no sense of time back home? And that it is literally yesterday in Atlanta? It is so bizarre to me.
Today I woke up at 6, got dressed, did laundry and walked to a cafe called Arcadia in Melbourne by 7. They have wifi and my apartment doesn't-it is a refreshing way to live really. You must get all of your work done outside of the home-which I sort of love but feel like there is zero way to do this in the US. I have been here for 3 hours and honestly don't think I will leave other than to go get my hair done. Also sort of strange to not be wondering the streets of Melbourne exploring this cool city, but I have a lot of work to catch up on.
I wanted to update you all on the orders for Tori and Helping the Hendrix family. I plan to continue to do this until they ask me to stop. So far I have received over 60 orders. Half have been ordered and shipped-please be patient as I am doing this all myself trying to save money so I can give the Hendrix family as much as possible. I plan to donate at the end of each month. I will of course keep you all updated on how much we have been able to give to them. Tori was a special woman-a woman that I never met in person but was immediately drawn to in life. I sometimes get a bit ahead of myself and try to help others (instead of taking care of myself or my family), but I am always reminded of the generosity of others when we were in our car accident-and I want to be able to help as much as possible.
I am reworking my entire business model after several conversations with a few successful businesses that I respect and trust. All 8x10 and 11x14 prints will be printed on deep matte going forward. They will not be limited editions so they will be more affordable. 24x30s will be offered in both fine art and deep matte. 40x60 and larger will be limited edition fine art only and will be signed by me always. Stay tuned as we get all of this together.
Traveling clears my head-well, traveling when I am working and have a little time to work through the madness. Thank you, as always, for following along on this journey.
